Editorial Guidelines

These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are written to be checkable: if we breach one, you should be able to point at it.

Sourcing

Claims of fact are sourced, and where a primary source exists online we link to it rather than to another outlet’s write-up. Figures are attributed and dated. We do not publish anonymous “insider” claims about prices, listings or regulatory outcomes.

No buy or sell calls

We do not tell you what to buy, sell or hold, and we do not publish price targets as our own. Where a third party has made a forecast and it is newsworthy, we report it as theirs, name them, and do not adopt it. Analysis on this site is about what has happened and what is verifiable, not about what will happen next.

Bylines, and where we currently stand

Our standard is that every public byline is a real, named person who stands behind the work, with a genuine photograph and a truthful biography. We do not invent staff, and we do not publish under an account name or a raw username.

To be straight with you about the present state of this site: we have not yet appointed named writers. Until we do, editorial content is published under Coinpric Staff rather than under a fabricated person. We would rather show you an honest collective byline than a plausible-looking invention. When named writers join, their pages will carry real credentials and their work will be attributed to them individually.

Our use of AI

We use AI tools in producing this site, including for drafting and editing explanatory copy such as our coin explainers. We are telling you this plainly because the alternative — implying every word was typed by a person — would be untrue, and because you are entitled to know how what you are reading was made.

What does not change is accountability. A human is responsible for every published claim. AI is not permitted to invent a source, a quotation, a statistic or a market figure, and any number that appears on this site comes from the data pipeline described in our methodology, not from a language model’s recollection. We do not publish AI-generated images of people or AI-generated author photographs.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact promptly, mark the article as updated, and log the change publicly. We do not quietly rewrite a published piece to make it look like it was right all along. Typographical fixes are not logged; anything that changes the meaning is.

Advertising, affiliates and sponsorship

Commercial content is labelled and kept apart from editorial. Sponsored material carries a SPONSORED label, is visually distinct, links out with rel="sponsored", and is excluded from our editorial feeds and news sitemap. We do not publish token promotion, presales or ICO marketing as analysis. Affiliate relationships are disclosed above the article body and never influence a rating.

Things we will not do

  • Invent staff, biographies or photographs
  • Publish under admin or a raw account name
  • Ship placeholder or fabricated market data
  • Present sponsored material as editorial analysis
  • Issue buy or sell calls
  • Hide an affiliate or sponsor relationship
  • Promote presales or ICOs as editorial
  • Misrepresent who — or what — wrote a piece
