Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it, mark the article as updated, and record the change here. This page is the log.

How we handle corrections

  • Error of fact — corrected in the article, a note appended explaining what changed, and an entry added below.
  • Clarification — where the original was accurate but open to being misread, we sharpen the wording and log it.
  • Data error — if a figure on the site was produced incorrectly, we fix the pipeline as well as the page, and describe both here.
  • Typographical fixes — corrected without a log entry, because they do not change meaning.

We do not delete a published article to resolve a complaint about it, and we do not rewrite one so that it reads as though it had been right all along.

Log

No corrections have been issued yet. This site has only recently begun publishing. An empty log here means exactly that — not that errors are being handled quietly elsewhere. Entries will be added in reverse chronological order, each with the date, the article, what was wrong and what it now says.

Reporting an error

If you have spotted a mistake — a wrong figure, a misattributed quote, a broken claim — please report it with the URL and what you believe is incorrect. Corrections about data are especially welcome: our methodology page documents how every number is produced, so a reproducible complaint is usually actionable.
