If you’re looking for a specific thing, you can get it. There are plenty of online shops that sell specific items. The problem is that most of the time you can’t find any of them when you’re looking for it. It’s the same reason I can’t find any of the cat accessories I’ve been looking for: there are no online shops selling those things.
I agree with your main point about buying a thing that isnt in supply or youre not sure where it is. But there are so many things out there that arent what you might be looking for. I am looking for a particular item and have done my research on various online shops to find the exact item I want. Ive spent almost an hour looking for it on multiple websites. It is the same way with all the other things I want.
The fact that I am having trouble finding something that isnt selling out is not a problem. The problem is that it is difficult to find something that isnt in supply for the price you want. If you want a certain item, the best way to find it is to look around and see if there is something you like from the same category that is out there for a lower price. I am not a professional designer, I only make clothes that I like.

I’m not sure how much of this depends on where you live, but I agree. I am in the USA and I am sure most people are pretty familiar with what a “cat” is, if not for the fact that it is a cat that “catches mice”. It’s a “cat” that does this thing where it starts scratching at the glass, makes a loud noise, and then goes back to its usual self.
