DeepikaI love coin, but I love it in so many different ways. One of the best places to find them is in Chinatown. They’re usually a bit on the small side, but the longer ones are a bit larger.
It takes a bit of patience to get a good one, but if youre willing to spend a little cash, I recommend getting a few. Theyre usually quite cheap (about $2-$6) and it can only get better from there. My favorite place to purchase one is Chinatown, though its a bit hit and miss, and I have yet to find one that I like.
A friend of mine buys his elongates at the same place we do, but he’s not a fan of small coins. One of the best places to find them are Chinatown (a smallish one), where you can usually find an elongate on sale for anywhere from $1.50 – $5 or so. The longer ones are typically $15-25, and I think you can usually find them in Chinatown for around $5 or so.
One of my favorite Chinatown locations is on the corner of 3rd and F, just next to the Yayoi’s. It’s a tiny little place, but the prices are often good and you can get a lot of elongates for as little as $1.50, so the prices are right. I’ve gotten a good number of them so far, and they’re all quite nice.
Like all elongate coins, they come in different sizes, and some of the larger ones are more valuable than others. Most are 1.50, but some are 1.60, 1.70, 1.80, and 1.90. The price for a longer one is usually pretty good so you might be able to get good deals on them if you plan to go to Chinatown.
A little more than 1.50 isn’t really a deal-killer, but it does make sense to get a bigger coin. You can get a little more for as little as 1.50, but the bigger one is not as bad as when you buy them. Ive got a mini-coin for an even smaller coin.
I know you know the answer, but how does elongate coin work? Do you use a microcontroller in your coin? Or do they have some sort of automatic mechanism where you just put the coin into the slot and the coin in the coin automatically measures itself? The latter seems more likely if elongate coin is the coin youre looking for.
All of the other types of coin are available in the store. So why doesn’t it have a tiny microcontroller? It doesn’t have to be a PC. It can be a little less than a mouse, but then it can’t be a lot more than a mouse, and then it can’t be much more than a mouse.
Although the question is a bit of a dumb question, I would actually say if you can make a coin that works with a microcontroller, you can probably make an elongate coin. It just may have to go through some sort of manual input mechanism. The only problem is that elongate coins currently aren’t sold in the store because the elongate coin makers are all made by people who are not willing to put their name on their coin.
